Cycling trip to Millers'  family farm 

"Family" does not mean small

Millers' family farm is just 9 kilometres from the university campus. It cultivates 580 ha of arable land and raises dairy cows. Good example of successful restitution and renovation of a collectivised family farm.

Visit to the medieval castle Okoř nearby. Bikes and helmets will be provided by the organisers. The total trip length will not exceed 40 km.

Restoration of family business in 1992. Nowadays, modern mixed production with field crops and dairy cows.  Own milk processing. Very traditional architecture of the farm houses.

The transformation of the beer sector in the Czech Republic. Beer tasting.

Bertramka - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart museum and Petřín tower. By public transport and easy walking. However, the way to the Petřín tower is a bit steep.

Walking trip to Brewery Únětice

Beer - the national heritage

Walking tour to the local brewery in Únětice (4 km) and from there to Roztoky (+5 km).  Restoration of the brewery in 2011 - 60 years after its closure. Visit to the brewery and beer tasting.

Castle Roztoky, landscape along the river Vltava. Rather easy walking on various types of moderate terrain, including rough trails. About 10 km to the final destination. Return either the same way or by public transport.

Forestry estate, spin-off of the Czech Agricultural University: the field trip will focus on the impact of climate change on forests.

Visit to the brewery in Kostelec nad Černými Lesy. The Brewery has its own museum with an exceptional collection of artefacts of beer brewing.

The joint stock farming company manages 5,500 hectares of farmland. Besides crop and livestock production, the farm processes frozen vegetables and has diversified into several non-food productions like biogas and electric energy, and traditional metalwork.

Němecs' family farm and the associated small milk processing is located in the outskirts of Prague (to the north). The farm combines direct marketing with the home delivery and e-shop.

The town of Stará Boleslav, where according to legend, the Přemyslid Prince Wenceslas, later St Wenceslas, was slain by his own brother Boleslav in the 10th century.

Reverse migration - LAG Pošembeří

The LAG region Pošembeří lies east of Prague. In spite of being at the outskirts of the city, the region was deeply underdeveloped in the 1980s. Nowadays, it has become an attractive residential area, which has brought many social and infrastructural challenges. The trip will show how the LAG tries to cope with them.

Social inclusion programme of LAG Brdy Vltava

Rural development

LAG Brdy Vlatva has designed a project supporting the employment of socially excluded people. The process has three phases: requalification (training in using tools for the management of public green vegetation, employment in the LAG's own business for 6 months and finally, integration in the labour market.
